    Over the years, Child’s Play India has been featured in many national and international publications. In the past few months, we have been written about in The Hindu newspaper, which is a national newspaper widely read across the country. This brought us a fair bit of attention in South India, which was quite exciting!

    We were also featured in the August 2019 edition of Reader’s Digest! Read the story here.

    We were also surprised to learn that an article about us was in the Gujarati Samachar in July 2019!

    In the run-up to our 10th anniversary monsoon concert, Prutha Goa interviewed our founder Dr. Luis Dias about our work and the concert itself. You can read the interview here.

    We were also featured in the Navhind Times and the Herald on the eve of our concert.

    Goa Streets recently did an article on Child’s Play where they explored our work and interviewed our Founder and Project Director Dr. Luis Dias. You can read the article by clicking on the link above or on the screenshot below.

    Just a couple of points:

    • The article mentions that we have “over 200 children”. The number is closer to 150, but we hope to reach 200 very soon.
    • In addition to violin, viola, cello and choir, some of our children are also learning voice at the Kala Academy.
    • Camerata Child’s Play India, under the baton of Prof. Santiago Lusardi Girelli of the University of Seville, had their first performance in April 2013 (not June 2013, as mentioned in the article).  Further, the collaboration between the University of Seville and Child’s Play does not have an end date. We hope that this collaboration will be an ongoing one for many years to come and that this will encourage other universities and music conservatories to work on volunteer projects with us.

    Here’s another interview with Professor Santiago Lusardi Girelli who is leading a team of ten musicians from the University of Seville,Spain, to volunteer with Child’s Play this July-August. Prof. Girelli is also the Chair for Western Music under Goa University’s newly-launched Visiting Professorship Scheme.

    This July-August, we are delighted to have ten musicians from the University of Seville, Spain, coming to Goa to work with Child’s Play. These musicians have also been taken under the wing of Goa University and their newly-launched Visiting Professorship Scheme. Professor Santiago Lusardi Girelli will be the first Anthony Gonsalves Chair for Western Music at the University. Here is an interview with him. He is pictured (below) working with some of the children from Child’s Play.
